What are “natural” search
results? When you do searches on Google or any other
search engines, all the results on the left column are the “natural” search
results. Everything on the right column
are advertisers who bought those spots through Pay-Per-Click. Most people go straight to the left column
because they know that those are the most relevant, unbiased results that they
are looking for. Those are considered
the authority sites.
Why do I need On Page One
Fast? Google and all search engines have secret
formulas for figuring out who should be listed at the top of the “natural”
search results. This formula constantly changes without warning. On Page One Fast has tens of thousands of
websites that we use to constantly test what gets websites ranked and we adjust
our strategy to keep you highly ranked.
Can’t I just buy the #1 spot
on Google? No.
Google does NOT sell spots in the “natural” results. This is why people like Google so much,
because they know that companies cannot buy their way to the top. Your website must be relevant to the keyword
used in the search or you won’t be near the top of the “natural” search results. Where people get confused is that you can buy
the top spot of a Pay-Per-Click ad.
Remember, people know those are ads and that is why most people only lookat the “natural” search results on the left. Those are the authority sites.
Should I look for a company
that is Google Certified: No. Google does NOT certify any companies
that do search engine optimization (SEO).
Google’s algorithm for ranking websites is highly secretive and they
will not tell anyone what it is. Many of our local Raleigh SEO competitors misrepresent themselves so be careful...See next question:
Why do some of your
competitors say they are Google Certified: This
is very misleading. Google does not
certify any kind of SEO. They do,
however, certify those that sell their pay-per-click (PPC) services called
Adwords. If a company claims that they
are Google Certified look closely at the Certification Logo they are licensed
to use. It says: “Google Adwords
Certified”. Google makes money from
their PPC sales through Adwords so they are more than happy to certify people
to sell their PPC for them. Google does
not make money through SEO and the natural search results and they do not want
anyone to know their secret algorithm for ranking websites. We think PPC is overpriced and therefore do
not sell that service. If you still want
to do pay-per-click then you can do it for free on your own at google.com (then
click on “advertising programs”). We can show you how to run your own campaign
for Free. You do not need a Google
Adwords Certified company to charge you commissions on top of what Google will
charge you. That gets doubly expensive.
Onsite vs Offsite SEO
Many web designers will tell you that they do
search engine optimization and they are telling you a partial truth. Many don’t even realize that they are telling
you a partial truth. They do on-site
optimization which is to use keywords in the website to make Google know what
your site is all about. This is
something that they do once but usually charge you monthly. On-site optimization is needed, but only
produces top ranking in Google in a very uncompetitive market. Off-Site, not on-site, optimization is the
most important factor for getting your website highly ranked. If you are in a business that is even a
little bit competitive then off-site optimization is critical. This is stuff that is done away from your
website that makes it appear very relevant/important to Google. Google believes that websites with more links
coming into them are more important that those with very few or no links. Therefore you need to constantly be creating
links from other people’s website into yours.
This is a time consuming and ongoing process and will be the main reason
that your website moves up in Google’s ranking.
